CALL FOR ABSTRACTS – ALL RESEARCHERS
The First Annual NUI Galway – UL Alliance Engineering & Informatics Research Day will take place on 7 April 2011. The key objective of the Research Day is to:
1. Enhance post-graduate research skills through targeted presentations on research methodology and practical guidelines for publishing your research.
2. Present post-graduate research in a conference-style interactive poster session.
All postgraduate and post-doctoral researchers in the disciplines of Engineering and Informatics in NUI Galway and the University of Limerick are now invited to submit a 1-page abstract summarising their current research, or a summary of recently published work. Each contributor is also asked to prepare a poster presentation for the Research Day.
Abstracts will be published in a Book of Abstracts available to attendees. During the Research Day, posters will be evaluated by a panel of academics from NUI Galway and UL, and prizes will be awarded for the best posters.

· Deadline for Submission of Abstracts: Friday, 18 March 2011
· Research Day: Thursday, 7 April 2011
Submission Details:
· Formatting guidelines should adhere to IEEE two column formatting. Sample templates for abstract and poster are attached
· Submissions should be in PDF format and should not exceed 1 page
· Abstracts must be submitted by email to Eileen.madden@ul.ie or abstracts@it.nuigalway.ie
· Posters must be brought along on the day; they should be able to fit on a display, see attached template.
