OPENS on the 24th of September with the Polish movie 'The Wedding' in the Belltable Arts Centre in Limeick City.
This is the first film of this short international film festival. The three films will be shown on the last Thursday of every month and continues with 'The Syrian Bride' on October 29th and 'Monsoon Wedding' on November 26th.
Doras Luimni is a Limerick based NGO supporting all migrants in the Limerick and its environs. The name Doras Luimní was chosen because it suggests a door open in welcome and hospitality.We believe that Limerick is privileged with its cultural diversity and one of our roles is to facilitate the appreciation of this diversity through the medium of art.
About the event
The Doras Luimní Intercultural film season is an initiative organised in cooperation with the Belltable Arts Centre to screen quality films from different regions with one common wedding theme. Before each screening there will be food tasting and refreshment from the region of the film (Poland, Middle East and India) and a group discussion will follow after the screening.
Time and Venue
All three films will be screened at Belltable, 36 Cecil Street, Limerick at
8.00pm on the following Thursday evenings.
The Wedding - Poland - September 24th
The Syrian Bride - Middle East - October 29th
Monsoon Wedding - India - November 26th
Please allow 30 minutes before the screening for food tasting and refreshment and 30 minutes after the screening for a discussion.
Price and reservation
Tickets are €5 for the employed and €3 for the unemployed including food tasting and refreshment.A fee waiver can be discussed with Doras Integration and Intercultural Officer.
