Special Olympics Collection Day - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Dear Student,

 

 

Special Olympics will hold its National Collection Day this year on April 15th. This is a vital day for Special Olympics as it is the only day that we fundraise nationally and on the streets of Limerick City.

 

I’m a volunteer with Special Olympics and we really need your help in the Limerick area to ensure that the collection day is a success and our 119 Irish athletes from Team Ireland make it to Special Olympics World Summer Games which will be held in Athens in Greece in June. Your support also ensures that the other 11,000 athletes within the Special Olympics Ireland programme continue to receive training of a professional level in their local communities. After the success of the Ireland games in Limerick in June last year we are hopeful that Limerick will once again get on board for a worthy cause.  

 

How can you help?

  • We need people to come out on April 15th to collect around the city. Some businesses and schools allow staff and students time off to do charity work and we were hoping that this is something you may be able to do for us.
  • If this is not practical, a coffee morning or no uniform day could be arranged at your place of business with the proceeds going to Special Olympics.
  • We are also looking for people with a little more time to take supervisor roles on a number of designated collection points around Limerick City for Collection Day. If you or any of your team would be interested in such a role we would be delighted to hear from you.
