The Financial Aid Fund is now open.
What is the Financial Aid Fund?
The limited fund is facilitated by the Students' Union (SU) and the Postgraduate Students' Union (PSA) and the Financial Aid committee. the fund is aimed at students who are experiencing extreme financial difficulty.
THIS FUND IS ONLY OPEN TO THOSE IN EXTREME NEED, IT IS NOT A DISCRETIONARY FUND.
HOW DO I APPLY?
Forms are available from the Students' Union Reception. The form must be fully completed; incpmplete forms will not be considered.
Once the form has been completed, the form must be returned to the PSA President where an interview will be conducted. An appointment must be arranged. To book an appointment, please email Dan on dan.comerford@ul.ie or click here. If you meet the criteria, the PSA President will make an appointment for you to meet with the Chaplain. The forms require signatures from both the PSA President and the University Chaplain to be processed.
The fund consists of 2 subunits.
- Childcare Bursaries
- Loans
Childcare: The PSA provides a limited number of childcare bursaries each semester to help with the cost of childcare for postgrads. If you are a student parent and are struggling with childcare costs call into the Students' Union and collect an application form.
All forms must be completed and returned with supporting documentation by Friday 24th, week 3 @ 1:00pm.
Loans: These are available to registered students only and only awarded in EXTREME cases. The loan is an interest free loan for a specific time period. The loan must be repaid in FULL before graduation.Application forms are available from the Students' Union Reception.
