PhD Scholars Bursary
posted 23rd May < back to all newsThis is a new initiative of the Research Office to assist PhD candidates to complete in a timely manner. It directly addresses the problem that average finishing times for PhDs was until recently 4.6 years but has suddenly gone up to 5.2 years. Timely completion assists candidates with career momentum. We are currently at our capacity for the numbers of PhDs we have in FAHSS so completions additionally serve to allow new candidates into the system. Further information is below. In summary -
Applications will be accepted on the basis of fulfilment of the following criteria
1. The Bursaries will be awarded to full-time and part-time PhD Candidates who are liable for continuation fees and will complete their studies in 2011.
2. PhD Candidates who have or intend to submit their thesis for the June Examination Board 2011 are not eligible to apply.
3. Applications from candidates will be considered from Arts, Humanities and Social Science, Business, Education where they have a draft of their thesis completed.
