HAVE YOUR SAY IN YOUR PSA
The PSA Will Hold the 2009/2010 Annual General Meeting of the Association on the 1st of October 2009 at 1pm in the PSA Common Room
There are constitutional amendments and officerships on the the table. Do you know whats being amended? Do you know what the new working groups will do?
The PSA AGM will take place on the 1st of October 2009 at 1pm in the PSA Common Room. PLEASE come along, it is the most important meeting of the year for us.
So what’s being decided? Well, the minimum wage will not drop to €1.84 nor will you be forced to abort your children in the name of a PSA superstate but to remove any confusion here are some bullet points
· The removal of the position Treasurer and then all duties of the Treasurer will be integrated into the role of Deputy-Pre sident.
· The addition of the new role of Community Inclusion Officer. This will be a new role designed to aid the inclusion of some of the more marginalised groups of postgrads and it would be envisioned that the officer come from at least one of this groups. Namely mature students, students who are parents of young children, international students, research/PhD students.
· Amending Article (D) 5.1 so the AGM can be held earlier than the 1st of October to elect the Executive faster.
· The addition of Working Groups to work on specific tasks to improve postgrad life.
The new Executive will be elected at the AGM. Nomination forms have been available from the PSA common room and PSA Presidents office for the last two weeks and will be available until 12pm on Thursday the 1st of October.
If you have any agenda items please email them to the President by 3pm on Tuesday the 29th of September.
Please come along and have YOUR say in YOUR association
